Seventh Annual Palmetto Capital City Classic Planned

(Columbia, SC) On Thursday, July 17, 2008, Benedict College and the Palmetto Capital City Classic Committee will hold a press conference to announce the 2008 Palmetto Capital City Classic game. The game will be played on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Charlie W. Johnson Stadium and kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

The Press Conference will be held at the Charlie W. Johnson Stadium on the 3rd floor in the Press Box and is set to begin at 12:00 noon. The Committee will also announce a schedule of events for the week-long occasion and salute area sponsors.

This marks the seventh consecutive year that the City of Columbia and Richland County have hosted the Palmetto Capital City Classic Game and week of events leading up to the game.

Coaches and officials from both participating schools, as well as the Classic Executive Director, will be available to field questions from the media.
